Project Review and Evaluation

Project Review and Evaluation

During Review and Evaluation processes, the project is assessed for its efficiency, effectiveness, impact, sustainability and relevance in the context of stated objectives. Conclusions and lessons learned are relevant for steering and learning. SDC's common practice is to have mid-term reviews during implementation, end-of-phase reviews and sometimes end-of-project reviews. Accordingly review findings are used to improve ongoing projects or the design of future projects and programmes. Occasionally, SDC also carries out independent end-of-project evaluations that have broader institutional learning and accountability objectives.
